MERCY'S GARDEN ADHERES TO THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

  • Parents will be told in advance, when possible, if a substitute will be taking care of their child due to a teacher's illness or emergency.
  • Parents are always welcome to visit the classroom as a guest or for silent observation. We have an open-door policy and are free most afternoons if you would like to schedule a conference to go over your child's progress.

REGARDING COMMUNICATION

  • All pertinent information will be shared via group text and a monthly newsletter. (Make sure your phone allows for group text and remember: Please do NOT respond to the group. If your response is required, please send it to 910.382.6096--as an individual.)
  • Avoid disseminating important information to staff during drop off and pick up. (Please send us a text, or if there is a situation that requires a more lengthy discussion, please make an appointment so that we can address issues and concerns when our attention will not be divided and the safety of the children not at risk.)
  • Parents are responsible for scheduling a conference to discuss a child's progress.
  • See specific information below regarding weather-related issues and communication.

PARENTS OR GUARDIANS WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • A completed enrollment packet
  • A snapshot of your child for their basket
  • All diapering supplies that are needed
  • A water bottle for warm weather months
  • A pair of indoor shoes
  • A sun hat, fisher's cap, or ball cap
  • A complete change of clothing appropriate for the season
  • Appropriate clothing (please see below)

           PLEASE LABEL ALL BELONGINGS

REGARDING CLOTHING

  • We allow the children to be independent as much as possible. Parents should make sure that all clothing is "child capable." Until you are willing to teach & allow them to tie, no laces. Jeans are cute but are not always comfortable while your child is working on the floor. Onesies are not easily removed for your potty training toddlers. Fancy flip flop don't climb the rock wall safely. --And if you don't want it stained, don't wear it to school. We paint and play with clay, mud, and sand daily!

PARENTS or GUARDIANS AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Sick children should be kept home. (Please call and let us know when your child is sick.)
  • Ill or injured children will be picked up as soon as possible after you receive our call.
  • A 30-DAY NOTICE is required if you decide to withdraw your child.
  • NON-PAYMENT of 12 monthly installments will exclude your child from future enrollment.
